Deleting your data

Your account on our server

In Cortex, open Settings, Account, and press Delete account. Type your password to confirm. This removes, right away:

If you pay for a plan, cancel it first so you aren't charged again. Cortex reminds you.

Payment records stay with the payment company, and with us, as long as tax law requires. Copies in our hosting provider's logs and backups expire on their own within 30 days.

Your data on this computer

In the same window, tick "Also remove everything from this PC". Cortex deletes its chats, projects, keys, settings and the work kept in its own folder, then starts fresh.

Without an online account, open Settings, Account, and press "Remove everything from this PC".

You can also uninstall Cortex and delete its folder. On Windows, press Windows and R, type %APPDATA%\Cortex, press Enter, and delete that folder.

Videos, websites and files you saved somewhere else, like your Documents folder, stay where you put them.

Services you connected

Disconnecting a service in Cortex deletes its key or sign-in from this computer at once. What you posted on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok stays there until you delete it on that service. To take away Cortex's access there too, use the service's own settings: the third-party connections page of your Google Account, Apps and websites in Facebook or Instagram, or Apps and services permissions in TikTok.
