Terms of use

Last updated: 8 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Cortex, based in Jordan ("we", "us"). They cover the Cortex app, your Cortex account, keys we give you and the paid plans. By making an account, using a key, buying a plan or using Cortex, you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice. If you don't agree, don't use Cortex.

Cortex is in private beta, so expect rough edges and keep copies of anything important. Use it for your own work and your business, legally. What you make belongs to you, and you're responsible for what you publish or send with it. Paid plans renew until you cancel, you can cancel any time, and within 14 days of your first payment you can have all of it back.

Who can use Cortex

You must be 18 or older to make an account or buy a plan. If you use Cortex for a company, you confirm that you may agree to these terms for it.

Private beta

Cortex is unfinished and is shared by invitation. Features can change, break or disappear, updates can bring new problems, and data can be lost. Keep your own copies of anything you can't lose. We may end the beta, or your place in it, at any time. If you test new versions before everyone else, the tester agreement also applies to you.

Your account

Use a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else got in, change your password and tell us. One account is for one person. Each plan works on a set number of computers, shown on the plans page.

What you may do

You may install and use Cortex on computers you own or control, for your own personal or business work. This licence is personal: you can't pass it on, and we can give the same licence to others. The Free plan costs nothing. Creator and Business features work while your paid plan is active.

What you may not do

Cortex acting for you

Some features act on their own once you switch them on: Autopilot makes and posts videos on your accounts, the front desk answers your customers, and the crew can publish websites. You choose to switch these on, Cortex asks you to confirm first, and it keeps a record of when you did. What they post, send or publish is done for you and in your name, and you're responsible for it as if you'd done it yourself. Check their work regularly, and switch a feature off if it does something you don't want.

Paid plans, keys, renewing and cancelling

During the beta, paid plans can only be unlocked with a key from us. A key is for the person we gave it to, can't be sold or passed on, and unlocks what we said it would for as long as we said. We can cancel a key that was shared, sold or misused. When checkout opens: paid plans are subscriptions, billed every month or every year as the checkout page shows. They renew on their own until you cancel. Cancel any time: you keep the paid features until the end of the period you paid for, and you aren't charged again. If a payment fails, the paid features stop after a short grace period and come back once it goes through. The checkout page shows the price and the tax. If we raise a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, so you can cancel first. A payment company runs the checkout and may be the seller on your receipt. Its terms cover the payment itself.

Refunds

Within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, ask and you get all of it back, no reason needed. Later renewals aren't refunded, so cancel before a renewal you don't want. We always fix mistakes, like a double charge. Where the law where you live gives you more, you get that too. The refunds page has the details.

Your work and your data

What you make with Cortex belongs to you: projects, videos, websites, posts and files. It stays on your computer. Our server keeps only what your account needs, which the privacy notice lists. You confirm that you have the right to use what you give Cortex, like pictures, videos, music, logos and other people's words. If you send us feedback, ideas or files, we may use them to improve Cortex without paying you or naming you; we never publish your files or personal details.

Services you connect

Cortex can connect to services you choose, like AI providers, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, Twilio and Netlify. You connect them with your own accounts and keys, you follow their rules, and you pay what they charge. Label AI-made content wherever a platform asks you to; Cortex sets the AI label on YouTube and TikTok uploads where they support it. We don't run those services and aren't responsible for them.

AI results

Cortex works with AI models. They can be wrong, make things up, be out of date, or produce something close to someone else's work. Check what Cortex makes before you rely on it, publish it or send it to customers, and before you use it for money, health, legal or safety decisions. You decide what gets published or sent, and you're responsible for it.

Content complaints

We don't host what you make: it stays on your PC and on the services you post to. If you believe something made with Cortex breaks your rights, write to invyedits1@gmail.com with the link, what it breaks and how to reach you. We'll look into it, and we may close an account that keeps breaking other people's rights. Complaints about a post usually go fastest to the site it's on.

Practice trading

The trading desk uses pretend money. It never places real trades, and nothing on it is financial advice. How a strategy does with pretend money says nothing about real results.

Updates and changes to these terms

Cortex updates itself over the internet. An update can add, change or remove features. Testers get new versions before everyone else. We may change these terms. When a change matters, Cortex asks you to agree again. If you don't, you can stop using your account and cancel a paid plan.

Ending

You can stop using Cortex and delete your account any time, in Settings, Account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we warn you first when we reasonably can. If we close your account without a good reason under these terms, we refund the unused part of your paid period. If we ever stop running Cortex, we tell you at least 30 days before and refund paid time you haven't used.

No warranty

We work hard to make Cortex reliable, but we provide it as it is. As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it's free of errors, always available, or right for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, like lost profit, lost data or lost business, or for what features you switched on did in your name. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if that's more. Nothing in these terms limits a liability the law doesn't let us limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

Claims about what you did

If someone makes a claim against us because of what you made, posted or sent with Cortex, or because you broke these terms or the law, you'll cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim. We'll tell you about the claim promptly and let you help answer it. This doesn't apply to the extent the claim is our fault, or where the law where you live doesn't allow it for consumers.

Law

The laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan govern these terms. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws where you live, and you can bring a claim there.
